Don’t stay here this place is absolutely horrible and a rip off. They charge almost a $100 a night for the cheapest room but the standard is absolutely terrible. First there is no running water in the rooms. They turn it off all the time and you have to keep asking the staff to turn it back on and they get annoyed with it. I know it’s Africa but the place charges American prices and they don’t have issues with resources. The water sprinkler for the grass is running all day, so water is available just not for the guests. Also, they have an area for the TV where the TV is running all day but no one actually watches it. In addition, the pool is dirty, water is very filthy, no towels at the pool and the room does not get cleaned during your stay. Food is very basic. The internet barely works at all even with a Cameroonian SIM card and they don’t take credit card and also no Wi-Fi!
The worst is the driver they sent us to pick us up in Bafoussam. We assumed that a driver that was sent by the hotel would know the way but this was not the case, he got completely lost. The ride is also a rip off and costs normally around 35$ each way for an hour drive. Our driver got lost and took us into the middle of nowhere which was very scary for 2 European women. He constantly had to stop and ask for directions to find the hotel. Instead of 1 hour it took 2 hours in an old car with no air conditioning! Once we finally arrived, I refused to pay the full price because he got so lost and the driver completely freaked out. He was screaming at us for almost an hour at the hotel, he threatened us, he harassed my friend and tried to pull her arm. His behavior was very scary and I was not comfortable around him at all. The hotel staff did not care much, just asked us to pay him. I gave him half the money and told the receptionist to take us to the room at some point. He kept screaming around but we just left. Don’t go there but if you do, tell them not to send Martin as a driver to avoid the same bad experience as we had’
